A Deal Facilitator in NIL Go, formerly referred to as a third-party service provider, is an entity that helps coordinate a deal between a student-athlete and a Deal Sponsor, and makes payment to a student-athlete, their, or their representative on behalf of that same Deal Sponsor.*
In working with a student-athlete on an NIL deal, Facilitators should be prepared to assist in the following ways:
Provide the student-athlete with a contract that clearly outlines the deal terms, including compensation and obligations. The student-athlete will be required to upload a copy of this when they enter their deal in NIL Go.
Respond to questions the student-athlete or their representative may have about the deal terms.
Ensure the student-athlete has the name and email address for a contact with both the Deal Facilitator and the Deal Sponsor. They will be required to enter this information as part of their deal and these email addressed will be used when sending attestation forms, if needed.
Respond to NIL Go attestation requests. If a student-athlete reports a deal and the Facilitator’s associated status with the student-athlete’s institution has not already been confirmed by the school, the Facilitator contact listed by the student-athlete will be emailed a link to an attestation form to complete. They will also be required to describe their business purpose and provide other supporting details. They will only have to do this once per institution. Not responding to an attestation form may seriously delay review of a deal.

*An entity is not a Deal Facilitator if it is the originating source of any compensation to the student-athlete and/or if it ultimately benefits from use of the student-athlete's NIL. If either or both of these things are true, then the entity is the Deal Sponsor.
